Pizza Egg Rolls

on June 29, 2012

Tip of the day: Ever gone to the cell phone store because your phone isn’t acting right? The little clerk tells you “oh well your phone has water damage”. Your response, “but i’ve never gotten it wet before.” One of the biggest mistakes a person can make is taking your phone into the bathroom when you take a hot steamy shower or bath. You may not know it but the water vapor alone can make those “indication” stickers show as if they have water damage. I only say this because I used to work for a “cell store” and has this happen a lot, I even called customer support and they would say the same. So long story short. Just keep in out of the bathroom all together. It’s a death trap for phones.

I originally saw these bad boys on Pinterest on some random pin. The recipe included it is a Taste of Home recipe but I modified it just a little to meet what I wanted. The was one of the easiest things in the planet to make. A very interesting twist on a common comfort food. Pizza, popcorn and movies! A normal Friday night around here. While on the topic of movies….what are your top 100 “Must Watch Movies Before You Die”? I asked on Facebook but I only got about twenty movies. Such as Airplane!, The Notebook, Titanic, and a few others, but what movies would you add to the list? Which movies would you say I have to see?

And….Off to the store you go to get these ingredients:

I got all “light” and/or “low-fat” items except the egg roll wraps. Of course you don’t have to get low fat items but I did just to keep it Figure Friendly. I think with full fat cheese my “cheesy” results would have been better, but the light cheese was fine as well.

Once you purchase the items create and assembly line, goes faster that way.

Oh and don’t forget to preheat the oven at 350*F.

Step One: Line up your “goodies” inside the wrap.

Step Two: Fold the “tops” over like so…..

Step Three: Roll the entire wrap starting at one side all the way over to the other.

Take care not to rip the wrap like I did trying to rush the last few.

Once I got all of them wrapped up I placed them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (easy clean up!).

After this step I lightly brushed olive oil on them.

No specific type or anything just what I found in my pantry.

Bake for 15 about minutes, once the first side is golden brown take them out and

flip them and finish until the sides are equally golden. Tada!

The finished product was pretty darn good if you ask my two year old and me. We chowed down.  Served with a side of your favorite sauce or if you’re me, some good ol’ ranch. Mmmhmmm.

Only thing I would change is I may add a pinch of basil, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, and thyme to the olive oil prior to brushing it on next time, just to give the crunchy wrap more of an Italian feel.
